Prestige Worldwide Softball Newsletter Edition 3.2
Prestige Worldwide took the field for Week 2. It was Derby weekend and team watch the big upset of Mind that Bird take home the roses at 51-1 odds; pretty much the same odds of Rats of Indiana winning a game this year. But after week 1’s performance Prestige Worldwide’s odds of continue their win streak was almost the same as Big Brown winning the Triple Crown in 2008. In the end PW lived up to Big Brown’s style of blowing the last game of the night 13-14 to the Yellow Panzies.
PW walked into the park ready to play right away but was quickly notified they were on a one hour delay. Considering the entire team is mostly a bunch of alcoholics there was nothing much more to do than to start drinking till game time. This was good for the fans of PW who got to bond and conversate with the stars of PW. PW loves their fans and any time they can sit down and drink a beer and get to know their fans they take advantage of it. Ryan Shelton takes extra advantage of it if they are hotties. For some reason those fans don’t come around after they meet the Ryan “Boats N Hoes” Sheltons. Yes the drinking came back to bite them in the ass at Game 2 as the entire team looked washed up and ready to be tucked in the bed by mommy.
PW’s lineup did not change much except for Brian Manning making his debut.
GAME 1
8:30 finally rolled around the PW took the field, with Mike Lemmink hobbling to the mound. Mike Lemmink came to the managers office early afternoon exclaiming he could not walk due to running with some Pig for 4 hours or so. Manager laughed at this excuse and not only did he get slaughter the pig for encouraging him to participate in another sport besides softball he was being force to play.
Prestige played very well the first game. They played solid defense and got runners on base. Matt Bailey continue his tear through the league going 3-4; a double, triple, and homerun. He scored 3 runs but ended up not getting player of the game because he did get once and did not get the single for the cycle.
Other players to stand out was the 4 hitter James Sims, he went 3-3 with two doubles.
Players to struggle were Marty Huber at short, who did fine at the plate, but struggled in the field with two errors that led to two unearned runs. Matt Ziegler went 1-3 and Gab Bailey also has found his touch at the plate yet and is hitting .364 for the year. Management is not concerned about Gab Bailey because he is such a high prospect and knows there is potential for greatness. It just seems his little brother has exploded at the plate a lot sooner. This may be due to Matt has nothing better to do all day right now.
PW ended up winning 19-5 going a combined 23-36 at the plate. Not too bad.
Player of the Game went to James Sims for his perfect performance at the plate.
GAME 2
Game 2 was a totally different story than Game 1. PW looked tired and drunk. Or probably past drunk. PW lost 13-14 taken the drama all the last inning but just did not have enough juice to get it done.
Things happen in this game that were unusual. Ryan Shelton struckout and had a costly error. Marty continued to struggle in the field and may get glasses. Brian Manning did not get a hit. Mike Lemmink pitched well but took a shot to the chest that may have taken the error out of the entire team. And Right Center Scott Biegler also had two errors in the field that were quite unusual.
Only bright spots were 3 players – Mike Lemmink continued to hit, Jeff Whitehouse came around and went 3-3 , and the surprise of the year Mark Ledonne is hitting the hell out of the ball batting .727 for the year (keep in mind who is keeping the stats HOOTS). PW’s 1B Turtle showed up but cried to management that he was having back spasms’ from his girlfriend Kari making him be on the top all night the night before.
The loss was tough and unexpected but Yellow Panzies took advantage of the errors to win. This will hopefully will wake up the Prestige Worldwide and they will be back to greatness in week 3 at 7:20 and 8:30.
Player of the Game 2 – Mike Lemmink – 3-4 and scored twice.
FAN OF THE NIGHT – KIRA would have won, but she hurt the 1B in bed so it goes to that’s right ASHLEY HOOTS HARDING. NOW SHUT UP about never being named fan of the game.
